Their tender interactions develop into a nostalgic heartland drama that gives audiences a glimpse of the American past as it explores timeless human emotions. Carl, the bus driver, Will, the town sheriff, and two waitresses – the poetry-loving high school girl Elma, and the world-weary diner proprietor Grace – make up the rest of the group.
Among the group are the young cowboy Bo his soft-spoken buddy Virgil Cherie, a nightclub singer (memorably played by Marilyn Monroe in the 1956 movie version) and Mr. Bus Stop revolves around a group of bus passengers stranded during a snowstorm in a 1950s Kansas roadside diner, setting the stage for a touching and humorous exploration of American hopes and dreams.
